Our firm began in 2004 when Brian and his wife, Barbara, established Brian Palmer Accounting & Tax, Inc. Over the course of 13 years, it has evolved into Palmer Accounting Group, PA. Brian started the practice in order to live out his passion of helping business owners and individuals to reach their financial goals and sustain them. He believed clients deserved personalized, quality services according to their needs and situation, and this belief is still the cornerstone of our firm today. We have evolved from a staff of two, to a firm of 10 who take pride in providing exceptional service.

Brian Palmer, CPA
Brian Palmer was born and raised in the Sarasota area. He attended school in the City of Venice and graduated from Venice High School in 1985. In May of 1989, Brian earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at Stetson University. He continued his post-baccalaureate education at Stetson and later transferred to the University of South Florida where he completed his studies. Brian has been awarded Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status by the State of Florida. To obtain this distinction, a candidate must earn an additional 30 credits beyond one’s bachelor and pass a vigorous state examination. Brian has over 25 years of experience in the accounting field. He has worked in the private sector, as well as for an international public accounting firm, which has given him a broad knowledge base. Realizing his desire to work for himself, and to offer a more personalized service to clients, Brian established Brian Palmer Accounting & Tax, Inc in 2004. His practice has continued to grow into the firm now known as Palmer Accounting Group, PA.
Brian has previously served on and Chaired the Greater Sarasota Area Chamber of Commerce Finance Committee, St. Thomas More Finance Committee, served as a board member and treasurer with the Community Associations Institute, and currently serves on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota Foundation Board.
Brian, along with his wife of 28 years, have raised 4 children in Sarasota. With their youngest 3 children currently enrolled at the University of Florida, they are enjoying the new chapter of their lives…the empty nest. Our community has so much to offer its residents and guests, and is a special place to call home.
